After beating Vitória SC 1-0 in the UEFA Europa League, Eintracht are eyeing another three points at home to Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

The Eagles have a score to settle with Werder, having suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat against the Green-and-Whites in their first home game of last season. Needless to say, Adi Hütter and his players are hoping for a much different outcome this time around.

Home comforts

SGE are looking to stretch their unbeaten home run in the league to four games this Sunday. Hütter’s charges have recorded wins against Hoffenheim (1-0) and Fortuna Düsseldorf (2-1) at the Commerzbank-Arena this season, as well as an encouraging last-gasp 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund. The Eagles have a better head-to-head record on home soil, winning 23 and drawing 12 (L14) of the teams’ 49 meetings (88 goals scored, 62 conceded).

Kohr returns, Hasebe and Abraham doubtful

Hütter can call upon the services of Dominik Kohr against Bremen after the midfielder sat out the Europa League win in Guimarães through suspension. The Eintracht boss may also make changes in defence, providing Makoto Hasebe (concussion) and captain David Abraham (calf) recover from their respective ailments in time for Sunday’s clash.
