Uwe Bindewald's training camp diary
The SGEagles will be reporting daily on their activities in the USA during the club's mid-season training camp. Brand ambassador Uwe Bindewald, who has been working with the Football Academy and played in the Florida Cup Legends tournament, reflects on Tuesday's activities.
Hi there, Eintracht fans!
On Tuesday I travelled from Tampa to Orlando with some of my colleagues for the Florida Cup launch event. This included a Legends tournament, in which we took part. Our team – myself, Fredi Bobic, Christoph Preuß, Oka Nikolov and former Stuttgart player Pavel Pardo – acquitted ourselves well, although we lost on penalties in our game against Flamengo. Even so, it was great fun as we got the chance to play at Universal Studios, where the backdrop and atmosphere were special.
For me and my colleagues from the Eintracht Frankfurt Football Academy, the journey is now over. We've had a wonderful – and very successful – time in Florida. We've been coaching the kids here for four days. While it has been fairly tiring, that's par for the course and at the same time it's been a huge amount of fun. Everyone really got into it and the facilities have been near perfect. It also helped that the first team were training directly next to us. The feedback from the kids and the parents has been overwhelming.
Now it's back to Frankfurt. I wish the first team a great rest of their stay in Florida, the best of luck in the Florida Cup and in the rest of their preparations, and I hope the fans have a good time!
Regards to Frankfurt!
