Simon Falette leaves Eintracht Frankfurt
Simon Falette has joined Fenerbahce on loan until the end of the current season in a deal in which the Turkish side also have the option to make the move a permanent one in the summer.
The defender arrived at Eintracht from FC Metz in summer 2017, and not only did he always perform well in his 43 appearances for the club, he was a key figure in creating a positive atmosphere in the dressing room.
Despite helping the Eagles to the DFB Cup title in 2018, and playing in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals last season, the Guinea international only sporadically featured in 2018/19, making seven appearances in both the Bundesliga and in Europe. Having only played away to SC Paderborn on Matchday 17 this term, the 27-year-old is now hoping for more game time with Fenerbahce.
“Simon has always conducted himself in an impeccable and loyal manner over the past two and a half years, regardless of whether he was playing or not,” said board member Fredi Bobic. “With that in mind, we did not want to stand in his way. We wish him all the best in Istanbul.”
