Sebastian Rode's training camp diary
The SGEagles will be reporting daily on their activities in the USA during the club's mid-season training camp. After Thursday's Florida Cup win against Sao Paulo, Sebastian Rode reflects on his first game back in Eintracht colours.
Hi there, Eintracht fans!
After breakfast, we had a light morning session to prepare for the game against FC Sao Paulo. We did some gentle exercises, a bit of 5v2 and also practised some set-pieces. In the afternoon we made the hour-long journey to the Tampa Bay Rowdies' stadium in St. Petersburg for the first game of the Florida Cup.
The game itself wasn't easy. We've had an exhausting week and came up against good opponents, who were tough to break down and had some lively, skilful players. We managed to claim a 2-1 win, though, which certainly wasn't undeserved. For me personally, it was special finally to pull on the Eintracht shirt again. It was a great feeling!
Next up is the match against Flamengo on Saturday. We made the two-hour trip to Orlando straight after Thursday's game. I'm excited to see what's in store for us here and how the second game goes.
I hope you're all doing well back home in Germany – see you soon!
