The Eagles began their preparations for Saturday’s match at Hertha Berlin with a brief but intensive training session on Wednesday.

With 21 outfield players and four goalkeepers, the training pitch was well filled. While Francisco Geraldes returned to action following his recent absence, the long-term injury absentees continued their rehabilitation programmes. Captain David Abraham trained individually as he recovers from a calf injury.

Lasting little over an hour, it was a relatively short session but that made it all the more intensive. In particular, the fitness segment led by Martin Spohrer really got the players in gear, before head coach Adi Hütter turned the focus to transitional play during a game of three versus two. In a sense, it was a sign that Eintracht are not dwelling too long on their first defeat since late September and want to return to form as quickly as possible.
