Eintracht’s January signing Marijan Cavar linked up with his new team-mates in training this week as the battle for places hots up.

His team-mates have had to wait two weeks before they could properly meet him, but now January signing Marijan Cavar is finally in Frankfurt and joining in with training. The 20-year-old, who signed a three-and-a-half-year contract last month, has been given the number 42 shirt. His arrival at the club further intensifies the competition for places in midfield.

Immediately after signing, Cavar was called up to the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team for a trip to the USA. “That‘s a very important experience that we wanted to allow him,” stressed head coach Niko Kovac recently. Cavar, who had previously represented his country in a number of youth internationals, featured in both games against the USA (0-0) and Mexico (0-1).
