On Friday the Eintracht centre-back travelled to Munich, where suspicions of a ruptured Achilles tendon were confirmed. Corrective surgery was necessary and the operation was completed without complications. It is not yet known how long Russ will be sidelined for.

The 34-year-old sustained the injury half an hour into last Thursday's match at home to FC Vaduz and was replaced by Martin Hinteregger in the 37th minute.

The whole Eintracht Frankfurt family wishes Marco a smooth and speedy recovery!
