Leipzig preview: Tricky away assignment
Eintracht Frankfurt travel to Leipzig on Saturday aiming to extend their unbeaten run in 2019 to four successive games.
This will be the sixth Bundesliga meeting between the teams, with Eintracht only winning one of the previous five, losing two and drawing two. The Eagles, currently fifth in the standings, have never managed to earn a point in Leipzig, a record they will be looking to rectify at the third attempt in a clash against the side one rung above them in the table.
Hütter and Rangnick meet again
Almost exactly a year ago, on Monday 19 February 2018, the Eagles beat Leipzig 2-1 in a frenetic encounter thanks to goals from Timothy Chandler and Kevin-Prince Boateng. Saturday's game will be a reunion for Eintracht head coach Adi Hütter and his Leipzig counterpart Ralf Rangnick, who won the Austrian league and cup double together with Salzburg in 2014/15 as coach and sporting director respectively. Both men left the club in summer 2015: Rangnick took over as coach in Leipzig, while Hütter went to Swiss side Young Boys Bern, where he enjoyed a successful spell - including a sensational championship triumph - before joining Eintracht in summer 2018.
Kick-off: Saturday 9 February, 15.30 CET, Matchday 21 of the 2018/19 season
Venue: Red Bull Arena, Leipzig
