International round-up: Success for Ndicka
The last lot of international matches took place on Tuesday night, and Evan Ndicka will be returning to Frankfurt with a great win under his belt.
The final fixtures of this international break produced two wins, one draw and one defeat for the four Eintracht players involved. Young defender Ndicka enjoyed the greatest success, playing 90 minutes as the France Under-20s notched up a deserved 4-2 win against the Serbia B team.
Fabián takes the armband
Frederik Rönnow also enjoyed success with Denmark, who beat Austria 2-0 in a friendly. Rönnow again had to settle for a place on the bench as back-up to Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. Marco Fabián had a more prominent role in Mexico’s friendly against Chile, though. As well as starting, the Eagles midfielder captained his team until being taken off after 62 minutes with the score at 0-0. However, the match ended in defeat for ‘El Tri’ after the Chileans scored in the dying minutes.
Finally, Luka Jovic and the Serbia Under-21s were held to a goalless draw by Armenia. The Serbs, who have already qualified for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, rested several first-choice players, with Jovic only coming on in the 67th minute.
