A first case of COVID-19 has been reported in Eintracht Frankfurt’s Bundesliga squad.

After the player complained of feeling unwell and reported having the symptoms of the illness, he was tested and the result came back positive. All Eintracht players, staff and some employees with close contact to the team will be tested for the virus straight away, and will also obey the obligatory 14-day quarantine rules.

“Unfortunately it was probably only a matter of time,” said board member Fredi Bobic, “but we’ll get through this difficult situation. It’s something that can affect everyone. And in light of this development, once again I implore everyone to take responsibility and stay at home.”
