Both teams struggled with strong winds in the first half, Eintracht coped better though and created numerous chances. Fabian, Meier and Gacinovic had good scoring opportunities but either put the ball wide or the Zenit goalkeeper was at hand. At the other end it was a quiet first half for Eintracht keeper Lukas Hradecky as Zenit hardly turned up inside his box.

After the break Barkok replaced Fabian, and during the second half the Eagles also brought on Besuschkow for Chandler (head injury), Tarashaj for Meier, Seferovic for Rebic and Tawatha for Oczipka. Zenit had a big chance to score the lead when Djordjevic was free on goal but Hradecky picked up his try (68'). The second half was less lively than the first and despite being fairly dominating throughout the match Eintracht did not grab that goal; the 0-0 score line stood at the final whistle.

Hradecky - Chandler (Besuschkow), Hector, Abraham, Oczipka (Tawatha) - Hasebe, Mascarell - Gacinovic, Fabian (Barkok), Rebic (Seferovic) - Meier (Tarashaj)
