Eintracht handed heavy fine by UEFA
The club have received an allocation of 3,200 tickets for the Europe League quarter-final first leg at SL Benfica on 11 April.
The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body has today issued Eintracht Frankfurt with a fine of 50,000 Euros following incidents during the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 match at Inter Milan.
In addition, the suspension period of the stadium ban for the team’s next away match in a UEFA competition, which was imposed following the final group game at SS Lazio on 10 January, has been extended from two to three years. The commission has refrained from revoking the suspension for a final time.
“We can count ourselves lucky that we’ve been given another last chance,” board member Axel Hellmann said of the decision. “I sincerely hope that everyone now understands the responsibility they have. Once this competition has finished – whenever it finishes for us – we will discuss internally with the fan community how to proceed with a view to future European campaigns, so that we’re not banned from attending games again.”
