Attacking midfielder Francisco Geraldes has joined the Eagles on a season-long loan from Sporting CP.

Eintracht Frankfurt have sealed their eighth signing of the summer with Francisco ‘Chico’ Geraldes joining on loan from Portuguese top-flight side Sporting CP. The attacking midfielder spent last season on loan at Rio Ave, who finished fifth in the Primeira Liga. He scored three goals and assisted seven in 30 appearances. “Chico is an intelligent player who is good with both feet and possesses good technique as well as fast pace,” said board member Fredi Bobic.

Geraldes came through the youth ranks at Sporting and has also represented his country at U18, U20 and U21 level. He won the Portuguese League Cup while on loan with Moreirense in 2017. “Eintracht Frankfurt are a big club,” declared ‘Chico’ on his arrival. “Playing in front of 50,000 fans every game is exactly what I want. I’m very happy to be here.” Geraldes will wear the number 18 shirt for Eintracht.
