Eintracht begin preparations to face Borussia Dortmund
The Eintracht players were greeted by hundreds of fans and spring-like weather on Tuesday at their open training session as preparations for the upcoming game at Borussia Dortmund got under way.
The conditions were perfect for Tuesday afternoon’s open training session on the grounds around the Commerzbank-Arena. In agreeable temperatures and glorious sunshine, several hundred spectators watched the Eintracht players work up a sweat in their first session of the week. Head coach Niko Kovac worked his charges for just over 90 minutes on the pitch, putting particular focus on fast-paced passing exercises.
In total there were 18 outfield players involved, including birthday boy Kevin-Prince Boateng (31) as well as three goalkeepers as Kovac began preparations for Sunday's game in Dortmund (kick-off 18:00 CET). Omar Mascarell, Danny da Costa, Ante Rebic, Timothy Chandler, Sébastien Haller, Marius Wolf, Makoto Hasebe and Jonathan de Guzman did not take part in the session but all trained individually in the gym instead.
Friendly on Wednesday
Players who have not been given as much game time recently will have the chance to showcase their talents on Wednesday 7 March in a friendly match against Russian side FC Kazanka Moscow (kick-off 15:00 CET). The game will be played behind closed doors for logistical reasons, but EintrachtTV subscribers will be able to watch a live broadcast online.
