Dost out until the end of the year
Groin problems mean that the striker will be unavailable until after the winter break.
After close consultation with the player, the coaching and medical staff have decided that Bas Dost will miss the rest of the year, with no further involvement in training or matchday action.
"The pain levels were too high for him to perform, so there was no point in continuing to push it day after day," said head coach Adi Hütter. The aim now is for Dost to take his time and come back fully fit for the start of the second half of the season.
The 30-year-old joined Eintracht from Sporting Lisbon last summer and has gone on to score three goals in eight Bundesliga appearances. He also featured three times in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League, and bagged a vital brace in the 2-1 win at FC St. Pauli in the second round of the DFB Cup.
