DFB federal court amends Willems verdict
There was good news for Jetro Willems and Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday following confirmation that the left-back's original three-match suspension has been reduced to two.
The German Football Association (DFB) federal court in Frankfurt changed the original verdict handed down by the DFB sports tribunal at an appeal hearing. The Dutchman has now been banned for two Bundesliga matches and fined €15,000, having previously been given a three-match suspension – a penalty the DFB supervisory committee requested again this time.
The new verdict means that Willems will still miss Sunday's match against Leipzig, but is available once again for the visit to Borussia Mönchengladbach next week.
