"Dejan is a very good centre forward who is versatile and also able to play as a wide attacker," said Eintracht board member Fredi Bobic. "Obviously he's still young and still has things to learn, but we're very optimistic that he'll settle quickly here in Frankfurt. We'll hopefully have a lot of games in the coming season so I'm sure Dejan will get the chance to show what he can do."

Joveljic was born on 7 August 1999 in Bijeljina, a city on the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. He played at Slota Junajted in his early youth career before switching to Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade. Last season the 1.82-metre forward registered eight goals and two assists in 17 matches, while he also appeared against SSC Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League. Furthermore, the right-footed attacker found the net three times in four outings in the UEFA Youth League.

Joveljic, whose squad number at Eintracht will be confirmed in the coming weeks, will represent Serbia at the U21 European Championship in Italy this month, with the side's first group game against Austria taking place on Monday.
