Bobic: "We're very diverse"
Eintracht Frankfurt board member Fredi Bobic speaks ahead of the upcoming Florida Cup matches about the competition itself, the impressive training facilities and why the SGEagles feel right at home in the States.
Fredi Bobic on…
… why Eintracht chose Florida: "It's the third time we've been to the USA since 2017. We travel a lot, which reflects well on an international city like Frankfurt. We've got 17 different nationalities in the squad, so we're very diverse. It's a pleasure for us to play against teams like Sao Paulo and Flamengo as we don't often get the chance."
… the Florida Cup: "We see both matches as equally important. We'll need to use the full squad because we'll be playing two games in 48 hours, which would be impossible with just one team. We'll have to mix the teams up a bit, but nonetheless we're here to win both matches."
… the training facilities: "The facilities here are outstanding. The infrastructure is great and so are the training pitches. I've got nothing but thanks for the organisers for inviting us and for our sponsors."
… the value of the two games: "We play a very attacking brand of football, which is unusual for the Bundesliga and I think it's one of the reasons we're so popular in Germany at the moment. In that sense it'll be interesting to see how we compare against the Brazilian teams, especially given that we face a Shakhtar Donetsk team full of Brazilians in the Europa League."
