Eintracht Frankfurt are in advanced talks over the signing of Bas Dost.

Eintracht are keenly pursuing the signature of the Sporting CP striker although there are still some details to clarify, which means the transfer cannot yet be completed this weekend. Dost will not be in the Sporting squad for their match against Braga on Sunday.

The Dutchman played in the Bundesliga for VfL Wolfsburg between 2012 and 2016, netting 36 goals in 85 league games for the Lower Saxony side, including four in a 5-4 away win against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on 14 February 2015.

Dost’s goalscoring record has been even more impressive in Portugal: the 6ft 5in forward has recorded 76 goals in just 84 Primeira Liga appearances, and he was the top scorer in the division during the 2016/17 campaign (34 goals).
