Eintracht began their final week of training before the Bundesliga resumes with three returnees. There was a full complement of goalkeepers, while André Silva was also back.

Even when they were just warming up, it was clear to see that the Eagles know they need to – and want to – improve on their results prior to the winter break. Conditioning coach Andreas Biritz demanded everything of the 18 outfield players during the running and sprinting exercises, before they got to work with the ball. Among them was André Silva, who was back in full training having been out with a knock since last Wednesday.

However, there was still no Marijan Cavar, Sahverdi Cetin (both thigh), Gelson Fernandes (hip), Marco Russ (Achilles), Nils Stendera (recovery training), Lucas Torró (knee ligament) or Daichi Kamada (torn ankle ligament).

Rönnow returns

Almost four weeks after tearing a tendon in his right thigh, Frederik Rönnow returned and completed the goalkeeping quartet together with Jan Zimmermann, who had recently been working individually.

Head coach Adi Hütter’s squad will train twice on Wednesday and then again on Thursday morning and Friday afternoon. All sessions are closed to the public.
