The Eintracht Frankfurt players and staff were disappointed both with the result and performance following Sunday's 2-0 defeat at home to 1. FSV Mainz 05, but are now eager to focus on the final game of the season next weekend.

Head coach Adi Hütter: "This was a missed opportunity and we'll need to digest that. I would've liked to have won for our fans today. We'll be underdogs in Munich next week, but we still want to get all three points. Bayern are really strong at home, but as we showed in London last week, we can play well away to big teams."

Gelson Fernandes: "I think we could've scored today, but we conceded two simple goals in the space of five minutes. It was difficult to come back from that. We tried everything we could, but unfortunately we lost so we still need to pick up points to qualify for Europe. Mainz did well and were the better team in the second half – they deserved to win. I'd like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to our fans for their incredible support this season, both home and away. They're always there for us."

Martin Hinteregger:
"Today we had a big chance to secure European football for next season, so it's a very painful defeat. We'll have to give our absolute all next Saturday – although we'd have done that anyway even if we'd won today. We know that anything can happen on the last day of the season. I'm looking forward to our final game despite this defeat."
