The Eintracht star and 2018 FIFA World Cup runner-up has committed his future to the club, agreeing a new deal until 2022.

Eintracht Frankfurt can continue to rely on the services of star man and World Cup runner-up Ante Rebic after the nippy attacker extended his current contract by a further year until 30 June 2022. The sporting management led by Fredi Bobic and Bruno Hübner have tied down a key player over the last two seasons with a new long-term deal. “Ante was certainly one of the breakthrough players of the World Cup,” commented board member Bobic. “It says a lot for Eintracht Frankfurt that we’ve managed to keep such a good player. Ante was wanted by some top clubs and had one or two better offers on the table. The fact he’s stayed with us shows that the club is close to his heart and that we’re heading in the right direction.”

Bobic believes that Rebic will be a key player in the forthcoming season. “His energy and pace fit perfectly with our coach Adi Hütter’s system. It was important for us that we retained his quality. Ante has become a cult hero for many Eintracht fans – not least because of his two wonderful goals in the cup final. Everyone who supports Eintracht Frankfurt can be delighted about this news.”

Eintracht can also continue to rely on Rebic’s winning mentality. For Hübner, the 24-year-old is a cornerstone of the Eagles’ revamped team: “I said at the training camp that we’re in a state of transition, but are not losing our calm. It’s a good sign for all concerned that we can keep counting on Ante.” The Croatian has scored eight goals and provided five assists in his 49 Bundesliga appearances to date. In the DFB Cup, he’s netted four times in eight games – a success story that Rebic will want to add to in Frankfurt.
