Ante Rebic Joined Eintracht
The Eagles signed 22-year-old striker Ante Rebic of Fiorentina.
Split born Rebic and Eintracht manager Niko Kovac met before when Kovac was managing the Croatian national team and also nominated Rebic for the World Cup 2014 in Brazil. At this stage Rebic was on loan to RB Leipzig in Bundesliga 2. From his home club NK Vinjani and via RNK Split he had joined Fiorentina. Later on he was on loan at Hellas Verona. In his 97 competitive matches for his clubs Rebic scored 21 goals. He has eight caps for Croatia (one goal) and 15 for Croatia's youth teams from Under-18 to Under-21 (eight goals).
Sporting Director Bruno Hübner: „We are delighted to be able to follow through on a recommendation of our coach. Niko Kovac is convinced that Ante Rebic will be able to help us as an attacker.“
Ante Rebic: „I am happy that my move came together. I have been to Commerzbank Arena already and really liked it and I know Niko Kovac well. He called me up for Croatia's Under-21 and the national side and I am looking forward to work together with him again and to pay back the trust.“
