Liverpool midfielder Allan Souza, who has been on trial with Eintracht Frankfurt since the US training camp, has signed on loan until the end of the season.

“Allan is a technically gifted and intelligent player with good vision who increases our options in the centre of midfield,” said sporting director Bruno Hübner. Eintracht are the Brazilian’s second Bundesliga club after he made 15 appearances for Hertha BSC during the 2016/17 campaign. Allan Souza – to give him his full name – also spent time on loan at Apollon Limassol last season, making 16 appearances in the Cypriot league as well as four in the UEFA Europa League.

Allan has only been able to play for Liverpool’s U23 side to date as he hasn’t been granted a UK work permit due to complex regulations for non-EU players. The Reds have again agreed to loan him out so he can gain experience in a top European league. “Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool have high hopes for him, which is why we’re happy to offer him the chance to prove what he’s capable of with us,” added Hübner. “Allan is already well integrated here in a footballing and personal sense.”
