It was a tough game indeed last Saturday against FC Ingolstadt, not only due to the 2-0 defeat but also as bans and injuries followed.

Match Ban for Abraham

Eagles defender David Abraham was red-carded against FCI after around half an hour for an unintentional but harsh tackle on Lezcano. German Football Association (DFB) have now penalised him with a two-match ban. He will miss the away match against Hertha Berlin and the home game v SC Freiburg; his likely return might be the away match against Bayern München.

Midfielder Omar Mascarell was booked with a Yellow Card during the match v Ingolstadt and will miss the next match too as it was his 10th this season.

Injury of Jesus Vallejo

Another blow came just before half time when Jesus Vallejo signalled an injury and was replaced by Michael Hector. This was now diagnosed as a rupture of a fibre muscle in his thigh. Vallejo - central defender like Abraham - will miss at least the match v Berlin on Saturday.

Back in Training

On the good side Marc Stendera is back training with the team after his long term injury (torn crucial ligament). Also Marco Fabian is likely to return to training with the lads this week after treatment for his hip pain.
