The Eagles' players and staff reflect on Sunday’s narrow win over Hoffenheim.

Board member Fredi Bobic: “It was a very intense encounter. Our lads showed great character. Hoffenheim played very well but we gave everything. I’m very happy to have beaten a top side.”

Head coach Adi Hütter: “We should have made it 2-0, but I’m very happy with the 1-0 win because TSG are a strong side. Overall we had the better chances and the players gave their all.”

Gelson Fernandes: “We deserved to win but we still have a lot of work ahead of us. We could have done better when we were in possession. The three points are good for our confidence, but we now have two tough away games coming up.”

Kevin Trapp:
“We’ve made the perfect start and put in a very focused performance. We started well with the goal and aggression, but we eased off after that. Things improved in the second half and we didn’t concede any chances until [Ishak] Belfodil’s disallowed goal [in stoppage time]. It’s nice to continue our winning run - every victory gives us more confidence.”
