Eintracht have been drawn against Benfica in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League. Like Inter Milan, the Portuguese club dropped into the competition after failing to reach the UEFA Champions League knockout stages.

Board member Axel Hellmann: “Benfica are a strong team, a big club and Lisbon is a great city. We’re pleased with this magnificent tie - it’s a great one in many respects. True to form, we’ve been drawn against another top side. I think it’s a good thing for us to be up against another big-name club. We showed in previous rounds that we’re capable of handling the occasion. We’re pleased to be able to welcome another historic club to Frankfurt.”

Luka Jovic: “It’s going to be a really interesting one for us. I’m obviously looking forward to returning to Lisbon and meeting up with one or two old faces. It’s going to be a tight one - the better team will ultimately emerge victorious.”

Goncalo Paciencia: “It’s going to be a great tie. We’re facing a side with a lot of quality in their squad and get to play in a wonderful and impressive stadium. We’ve also got a brilliant stadium and a strong squad, of course. I’m looking forward to playing in Portugal and am determined to get the better of Benfica and reach the next round. We’ve got enough time to prepare ourselves for the tie.”
