The Eagles hail their progression to the DFB Cup quarter-finals following another win against strong opposition.

Board member Fredi Bobic: “It was a deserved and important win. The team played really well overall. They’re on it in the big games. These are the games we love. Playing at this level week after week in front of these fans – that’s what we want.”

Head coach Adi Hütter: “I witnessed a great performance. We can be proud of coming through against last year’s runners-up. We knocked out a top side but there are other top teams left in the competition.”

Filip Kostic: “It was very hard to play against one of the best teams in Germany. Leipzig had to take more risks after the first goal, which suited us. This team suit me (laughs). I just do what the coach tells me. We work well together, I get a lot of joy on the left with Evan [Ndicka]. The win gives us a lot of confidence for the league. We hope we can do the same again on Friday. Now we need to recover well and analyse what we did well, but also what we did badly. I might explain the background behind the binoculars celebration on Friday. It’s an in-joke from the dressing room.”
