The Eintracht players and staff were full of praise for the Eagles’ vociferous supporters following Thursday’s emphatic UEFA Europa League victory over FC Vaduz.

Board member Fredi Bobic: “The lads put in a good performance. We can now look forward to the return leg in front of 48,000 spectators. Our fans love every part of being in Europe. There were over 3,000 of us in Liechtenstein. That atmosphere is a great advert for football!”

Head coach Adi Hütter: “I saw a very focused performance and a convincing victory, the margin of which was fully deserved. It was a big step towards the play-offs.”

Gelson Fernandes: “It was important to be focused, not give anything away, win the game and put ourselves in a good position. We now need to recover well and prepare for the clash with Mannheim [in the DFB Cup]. We don’t have a B team and need every man on board, because we have a lot ahead of us. Our fans love Europe, you could see that again today. We’re at home in Europe!”

Dominik Kohr:
“The 5-0 lead is a good position to be in, but we need to take the return leg just as seriously to avoid any scares. At home in front of our fans, we’ll finish the job and move into the next round. Our fans are mad - in a good way. We’re happy to have them. Their passion rubs off on the team.”
