The Eagles won another pre-season friendly 1-0 against Al Ahli Club. Bunjaki scored the match winning goal (42').

In a lively first half in which Eintracht dominated the opponent from the Emirates Blum and Castaignos had various scoring opportunities. After all it was Bunjaki who scored from a build-up via Seferovic on the left (42'). Niko Kovac made two changes only for the second half, Bätge came on for Lindner in goal after the break and Flum replaced Kothe later on (57').

Eintracht seemed somehow tired after half time, no wonder as the lads are training hard ahead of the 2016/17 campaign. Al Ahli had a few chances and so did Blum for SGE - the 1-0 score line stood at the final whistle.

Statement after the match

Niko Kovac (Eintracht manager): "One could see that we lacked that necessary spark but that is no surprise. We are in the fifth week of intense training and I am convinced we will get that freshness over the weeks to come. Today I wanted to give one line-up 90 minutes as in recent friendlies we swapped nearly the whole team at half time. But I won't overestimate today's match."

Eintracht Line-Up

Lindner (46' Bätge) – Regäsel, Knothe (57' Flum), Chandler, Gerezgiher – Fabián, Hasebe – Blum, Bunjaki, Castaignos – Seferovic
