The Eagles impressed once again holding title holders and double winners Borussia Dortmund to a 3-3 draw. In a tantalizing encounter this sell-out match did not disappoint in a single minute. After an awkward goal by Piszczek (25’) and another one by Reus (28’) it looked like a walk in the park for the champions going into the break with a two goal lead. But Eintracht came back forcefully equalizing within only six minutes into the second half with goals of Aigner (49’) and Inui (51’). Another three minutes later Götze scored (54’) and it looked like the favourites would carry this one home. But Bamba Anderson headed in a neat Oczipka cross for SGE to go even (73’).
Two of this season’s surprise teams will meet on Friday evening, both unbeaten and both aiming for the top of the league - at least until current leaders Bayern will play their match on Saturday. With Nürnberg (ranked 6th) hosting Eintracht (ranked 2nd) this will be a true cracker.
