Test Matches v Kraków and Donetsk

The winter training camp in Abu Dhabi came to a close when Eintracht faced Ukrainian champion Shakhtar Donetsk for a friendly. Back in Frankfurt, the Eagles have already played another test match against Polish team Wisla Kraków. Read about these two matches in our news update.

Test match v Wisla Kraków

On Sunday, 19 January 2014, the Eagles battled it out in a friendly with one of the oldest and most successful Polish football clubs, Wisla Kraków. Wisla contend in Ekstraklasa, the Polish top league. The match took place in Frankfurt’s Commerzbank-Arena without any spectators, the kick-off was conducted at 15.00 CET. Thanks to a Meier brace, a well-playing Eintracht controlled the match from the outset and finally celebrated a well-deserved 2-0 victory.

The training camp in Abu Dhabi came to close when Eintracht lost a test match against Ukrainian champion Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday, 16 January 2014 (13.00 CET). The match’s only goal was scored by Texeira (44’).
