The profit oriented professional football public company was founded on July 1st in 2000 and is headed by a management board consisting of Heribert Bruchhagen (CEO), Dr.Thomas Pröckl and Klaus Lötzbeier.

The management board is overseen by the supervisory board, the representative of the owner (of the club) as well as the city and the county of Hesse and is headed by Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Bender.

All sport related issues are overseen by head coach Armin Veh, assistant coach Reiner Geyer, goalkeeper coach Manfred "Moppes" Petz as well as the two talent scouts, Bernd Hölzenbein and Ralf Weber. The head of the licensed player division is Rainer Falkenhain.
